Scaffolding constructions can be extremely dangerous to workers or passers-by.
Scaffolding is used to gain access to works that are typically being carried out on buildings that are either being built or renovated.
It is thought that over half of the construction industry frequently works on scaffolding, which presents significant dangers to both workers and passers bye. Workers falling from height and people being hit by falling objects like tools, building materials or even bits of scaffolding are not uncommon.
If you have fallen or have been hit then there’s a strong possibility that you could be entitled to some compensation.
If you would like to discuss your claim then please complete the form above and one of our team will get back to you. Alternatively, feel free to call us now on 0800 028 2060 or complete our Online Claim Assessment and someone from the relevant department will happily take your call.
“Outstanding client service from start to finish. From the very first time I called Russell Worth I was impressed with their friendly professionalism. I had called a number of the TV advertised compensation lawyers and large firms with impressive websites and received nothing but poor service from what appeared to be over-worked and under-trained staff. I had hesitated to call RWS because they are located at the other end of the country to me, but I’m so glad I made that call. RWS are just the very best at listening, understanding my situation, putting me at ease and coming up quickly with a plan of action that resulted in more compensation than I had expected possible. Actually, the TV advertised legal firms had told me I couldn’t expect any compensation for my injuries. Thanks heavens for RWS!!”

The Health and Safety Executive guidelines around scaffolding
There are a number of measures that have been put in place to stop these types of accidents from happening:
1. The Working from height regulations state that any work to be carried out at height is properly scoped in terms of a risk assessment, resources required and skills / training requirements of the employees considered.
2. The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations are guidelines intended to give the reader a firm set of instructions on how to use equipment in the workplace and states that the equipment should only be used by people who are trained to do so.
3. The Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at work regulations 1992 state that your employer should ensure that the equipment used for a job is fit for purpose, has been maintained and stored properly prior to a job starting. It also states that there should be the correct usage instruction accompanying the equipment.
Injuries typically sustained from scaffolding accidents
Falling from scaffolding can lead to some serious injuries and even death. Minor lacerations are common but there are a number of head and brain / spinal injuries each year from either workers falling down or people being hit by something that has fallen. If the scaffolding collapses, there is also a risk of people and other objects being crushed.
