Trip on protruding utilities cover causes broken foot
On 1st September 2015, Mr D instructed Russell Worth to represent him in a personal injury claim against Bristol City Council, following a trip over a protruding utilities cover on a public pavement. The accident caused Mr D to break his foot necessitating time off work. MS, public liability specialist here at Russell Worth, ensured Mr D was awarded the compensation to which he was entitled despite the fact the Council denied responsibility for the defect. MS issued Court proceedings against the Council and began to build Mr D’S case to include obtaining medical evidence and witness statements. It would seem the Council were not confident in their chances of success at trial and before a date could be fixed an offer of settlement was agreed upon. Commenting on the case Mr D said the following:- “Excellent advice with regular communication. Throughout my dealings with Russell Worth, I was impressed with the level of communication with regular updates received all in timely fashion. Balanced advice leading to a satisfactory outcome.”Free Claim Assessment

Unsecure gazebo crashes into client and causes injury
On 5th July 2015, Mr H was visiting a market at which a stall holder was setting up his stands. A gust of wind blew the metal framed gazebo into the air and into the path of Mr H causing him to become injured. Mr H felt dazed after being hit on the head and arm by the gazebo and made his way to hospital where he received treatment for a graze to the back of his head and bruising to his arm. MF, public liability specialist here at Russell Worth, was happy to represent Mr H in a claim against the stall holder for compensation to which he was entitled. The stall holder instructed his insurance company to deal with the matter on his behalf and in the meantime MF arranged for Mr H to attend an independent medical expert who examined Mr H and prepared a report on his injuries which supported his claim. Fortunately, Mr H’s injuries were only minor in nature and it took just a few weeks for him to recover. Despite the stall holder’s insurance company denying responsibility for the incident, MF pushed ahead with the claim and issued Court proceedings. This prompted the insurance company to put forward an offer of settlement which MF advised Mr H to accept. Mr H was awarded £740 for his injuries and additional losses such as travel to medical appointments and replacement sunglasses due to his previous pair being damaged at the time of the accident. Commenting on the case Mr H said the following:- “first class help. they were helpful from the start great company thank you”.Free Claim Assessment
