Faulty ice-skates cause foot injury
J, who began ice-skating at the age of four, has been a proficient skater for many years without incident. In January 2015 however, following the purchase of a new pair of skates, she began to feel discomfort in the sole of her foot. After approximately 40 minutes of skating J, upon inspection, noticed the blade of her skate was becoming detached from the boot itself. Russell Worth advised J that she had a potential claim against the seller of the skates and made a claim against them on her behalf. Not only had J suffered with a physical injury, she also developed a phobia of skating following the incident. After some negotiation with the solicitors for the other side, an offer of £3,500 was accepted by J for her injuries. Commenting on the case J said: ‘Very helpful! I had a very positive and helpful experience with Russell Worth Solicitors. They have always kept me updated, even when nothing was happening. Was never left in the dark about the situation and progress. Would recommend to anything who is in need of good solicitor!’Free Claim Assessment

Dog bite leaves client shaken and bleeding
When out collecting recycling Mr A was beckoned over to the gate of a home owner who was trying to make herself heard over the noise of her dogs barking on the other side of the gate. When he approached the gate to speak to the lady Mr A was shocked when one of the dogs lunged over the gate and bit his right hand. SJ, public liability specialist here at Russell Worth, represented Mr A in a claim against the dog owner who unbelievably denied the event even took place. Undeterred SJ pressed on with the claim and had no doubt whatsoever that Mr A had indeed been bitten and sustained injury in the way described. To put pressure on the dog owner’s insurance company SJ issued Court proceedings and they subsequently made an offer of settlement in the sum of £1,000 which Mr A accepted in order to bring an end to the matter. Commenting on the case Mr A said; “Dealt with very professionally. Very pleased with way my claim was dealt with. Professional in every step and kept me fully informed of the latest situation from beginning to end.”Free Claim Assessment
