Man Injured During Stay at Hotel Awarded £3,000

T came to us following an accident when he was injured whilst staying at a hotel. When a shelf started to come away from the wall of the bathroom T attempted to save it from falling to the floor and in doing so injured himself. CH, specialist public liability claims handler, was keen to act on behalf of T and wasted no time in writing to the hotel. The hotel passed the claim to their insurance company who did not dispute the accident and admitted responsibility for it. CH arranged for T to meet with a medical expert to ensure that any future medical needs were identified and medical evidence was obtained to support the claim. T had sustained a soft tissue injury to his elbow, thigh and lower back. Fortunately, although being painful at the time the injuries were not permanent and T made a full recovery. T was awarded £3,000 for his pain and suffering and commenting on the process said the following; ‘Excellent service. A thoroughly professional service from start to finish.’

Settlement Agreed for Child Injured at School

Finding out your child has been in an accident resulting in injury is a telephone call no parent wants to receive. When Mrs S came to Russell Worth it was following receipt of just that call. Not only that but the call came from her son’s school where he was attending a club which as it turns out was unsupervised at the time of the accident. Mrs S’s son, M, had tripped and fallen breaking his leg which was in cast for some three months resulting in him missing school for four weeks and being unable to participate in sporting activities for four months. Following our involvement the school’s insurance company admitted responsibility for the accident. AH, Associate, who specialises in public liability, was keen to reach agreement with the insurance company who offered them £6,950 compensation. Following agreement by a Court Judge this sum was accepted and M’s settlement has been paid into the Court Fund where it will accrue interest until he reaches the age of 18. Commenting on the case, Mrs S said the following; ‘Would recommend to anyone. I was very pleased with Russell Worth solicitors. Made my claim very easy without me having to do much at all. Thanks to them my son now has a nice nest egg for his future’

Road Traffic Accident Case Studies

Settlement for keen cyclist involved in Road Traffic Accident

If you are a cyclist yourself you will no doubt be aware that not all motor vehicle drivers are considerate of cyclists nor alert to their presence. Our client, M, found this out himself last year when on his bicycle, in Reading, was knocked off and sustained severe grazing and bruising to his right knee and leg. As you might imagine, the incident was upsetting and this lead to flashbacks and shock immediately following the incident. JT of our Road Traffic Accident specialist team worked with M to secure him compensation for pain, suffering, loss of earnings and cost of public transport following the accident. Within two weeks our team had obtained an admission of liability from the driver’s insurance company and just two months later compensation was awarded at £3,518. JT said “I was pleased to be able to secure an early admission of liability and negotiate settlement of Mark’s claim quickly so that he could put this matter behind him.” M summed up his experience of making a claim with just one word which is ‘Fandabidosi’!
