Negligent Nursery Agree to Compensate Injured Child
L came to Russell Worth following her baby being in an accident at the nursery he was attending. Due to lack of supervision at the nursery L's baby was allowed to be picked up by an older child and then dropped on the floor which resulted in him sustaining a break to his leg. BW, public liability specialist, was eager to secure compensation for L’s baby and immediately lodged a claim on his behalf. There can be absolutely no defence for this clear breach of duty of care and an admission of responsibility was received from the nursery’s insurance company. Following advice from BW, the first offer put forward by the insurance company was rejected and subsequently increased. The sum of £5,925 was accepted by L on behalf of her baby and this was approved by a Judge as is usual procedure when an infant claim is settled. Following settlement the matter was then passed to our accounts department to ensure that payment was duly received and passed on. Commenting on the claim L said; ‘No win no fee. Great solicitors and very easy to talk to and always email you back with any queries you may have. Did have a few people throughout the settlement period which was confusing. My settlement was successful and didn't cost me a penny. Did take 1.5yrs from start to finish with appointments, hosp trips etc.’Free Claim Assessment
