£2,000 Award for Electric Shock

Miss F approached Russell Worth Solicitors after she had received an electric shock from an unmarked fence when walking along a footpath. Following the incident Miss F suffered with palpitations, headaches and pins and needles. SC, representing Miss F, approached the landowner responsible for the electric fence and the claim was duly passed to his insurance company to deal with. Following some negotiation, and advice along the way from SC, Miss F agreed to accept an award of £2,000 for the pain and suffering she has endured. Commenting on the matter Miss F said: ‘Excellent service and advice. I was very pleased with my representation by Russell Worth. My designated solicitor was friendly, available if I needed information, clear in her advice, and had common sense. She advised me in such a way that the matter was brought to a satisfactory conclusion with the least amount of effort and stress to me, and always kept me informed of developments. I would recommend Russell Worth to anyone.’

Five Figure Settlement for Child who Loses Part of Finger

SJ, Senior Solicitor, here at Russell Worth was keen to represent a young lady who was just 6 years old when she lost the tip of her finger. Our client was out with her mother at a restaurant when a fire door slammed shut on her hand. There was no slowing mechanism on the door. Our client had to undergo painful surgery during which her finger was amputated below the nailbed. Along with the obvious physical pain our client missed three weeks of school and suffered with flashbacks and nightmares. The restaurant passed our letter of claim to their insurance company who investigated the incident and came back to us with an admission of responsibility. Following this, S arranged for our client to attend an independent medical expert to ensure that any future needs she might have would be taken in account. The medical expert thought it prudent to ensure the client was not only compensated for pain and suffering at the time but also to include a sum to be used for counselling in the future should the need arise. After some negotiation, following consent by a Judge, our client was awarded the sum of £10,675 which has been paid into the Court Fund where it will be held, accruing interest, until the client is 18 years old. Commenting on the case, the client’s mother, who acted as litigation friend, stated ‘Absolutely 100% professional from start to end, highly recommend Russell Worth solicitors.’
