You may recall that in February’s newsletter we featured our green project and so we wanted to provide you all with an update on how that is going. We have begun the process of retrieving box after box of paper files from our file store and beavering away, scanning files and documents which are then stored onto our hard drive. We then shred the paper files and the shredded paper is sent for recycling. At the start of the project we had in excess of 400 boxes of files held in storage which has now been reduced to 140. We are definitely heading in the right direction and hope to have all files out of storage and saved to our hard drive by the end of the year.
During the months of June and July we were very fortunate to have Filiberto Monici working alongside us. Filiberto, who studies at Institute “E.Fermi” in Northern Italy was placed with Russell Worth via a work experience project. It was an absolute pleasure to have Filiberto working with us and he made great headway in helping us with our paperless project. Filiberto was both helpful and cheerful to have around the office – a real credit to his school and family.
Commenting on what he enjoyed most during his experience at Russell Worth Filiberto said the following: ‘The staff! You were all hospitable. It was amazing to find staff that host you in a very giving way especially when I have come from another country.’
It is Filiberto’s dream to attend the Italian Naval Academy and we all wish him well in following that dream to make it a reality. In the meantime we have asked Filiberto to send back to England some of the lovely weather he enjoys in Italy when he gets home and it seems like he has done just that!
